Roxanne was named by her sister, Kim, after the hit single by The Police. The song reached No 12 in 1979, the year Roxanne was born.

Ash guitarist Charlotte Hatherley released a download only single in 2004 called Kim Wilde. Although it didn’t mention Kim in the lyrics it did name check her first two singles Kids in America and Chequered Love. The song appears on Charlotte’s debut album Grey Will Fade.

Not wishing to miss out Dad, Marty Wilde, is mentioned in the Transvision Vamp single Born to be Sold along side the likes of Elvis Presley, Morrissey, Johnny Rotten & Madonna. The song reached No 22 in 1989.
